Understand the rule first

Compare the first two cells with the third: features may combine, cancel, rotate or change count. Confirm the same operation in another complete line before applying it.

Worked example

In each row, the third cell contains the combined dots from the first two. A row has 2 dots, then 3 dots. What is third?

  1. The rule is addition of dot counts.
  2. Check that no dots overlap or cancel.
  3. 2 + 3 = 5.
